Visual Learning provides all full show video titles and content clips in the following digital file formats.

H.264

H.264 format is a high-quality picture in a small file size, and the preferred video format for iTunes and iPads. Videos play in QuickTime and are compatible with Flash Player. Files have embedded metadata.

Resolution: 640 x 480 (elementary and high school), 320 x 240 (middle school)

Bit Rate: 1 Mb/s (elementary and high school), 0.7 Mb/s (middle school)

Clips Approx. File Size: 5-25 MB

Type: MPEG-4 (.m4v)

WMV

Windows Media 9 files play in Windows Media Player. This widely used format will play on any PC without additional software.

Resolution: 640 x 480

Bit Rate: 1 MB

Full show Approx. File Size: 95-200 MB

Clips Approx. File Size: 5-25 MB

Type: Windows Media (.wmv)

DV

DV files are used as masters. They have not been recompressed into other formats, allowing you to generate your own files. These files are used with compression tools that support QuickTime.

Resolution: 720 x 480

Bit Rate: 25 Mb/s

Full show Approx. File Size: 3 GB - 4.5 GB

Clips Approx. File Size: 250-600 MB

Type: QuickTime (.mov)

DVD

Play in DVD players and in computer DVD drives, and can also be used as master digital MPEG2 files to use for video streaming and instructional television services broadcasts. DVDs are a high quality picture and are easy to navigate. Special DVD features include a menu with a chapter index, English subtitles, labeled slides, glossary, and iMovie project.
