H.264 format is a high-quality picture in a small file size, and the preferred video format for iTunes and iPads. Videos play in QuickTime and are compatible with Flash Player. Files have embedded metadata.

DV
DV files are used as masters. They have not been recompressed into other formats, allowing you to generate your own files. These files are used with compression tools that support QuickTime.

DVD
Play in DVD players and in computer DVD drives, and can also be used as master digital MPEG2 files to use for video streaming and instructional television services broadcasts. DVDs are a high quality picture and are easy to navigate. Special DVD features include a menu with a chapter index, English subtitles, labeled slides, glossary, and iMovie project.
