A multifaceted professional development program enables educators to maximize the full power of the tools provided in Visual Learning Digital and Spanish Science products. There are three levels of professional development: basic, advanced, and premium. The features of each are described below.Basic Professional Development
Online Professional Development Portal and Networking Site. The professional development website portal is specifically designed for educators using Visual Learning Science materials. The site features videos, teaching suggestions, user tools, and other professional development content. The site enables educators to post questions, ideas, and exchange information regarding the use of educational media in the classroom.
Advanced Professional Development
One-day onsite workshop for all participating schools to cover the following content:
- Introduction to Visual Learning science video and media products
- Use of teacher and student guide
- Using video in the classroom
- Use of iPods in the classroom
- Science teaching strategies for ELL students
Premium Professional Development
Follow up training and refresher course
One-day onsite workshop for all participating schools to cover the following content:
- Review and discussion of integration of science video and media products
- Introduction of advanced techniques for use of video in the classroom
