The various properties and sources of light are introduced in this short program. This fine overview of light covers such topics as composition, speed, waves, electromagnetic spectrum, mirrors, lenses, and visible light. Live-action footage, computer animation, and graphics back up pleasing voice-over narration. Each section contains an interactive segment in which a question is asked and time is allowed for student response. The questions cannot simply be answered with one word but require deeper thinking to produce a more detailed answer. The title concludes with a summary and follow-up quiz. The program includes a notebook that contains a script, bibliography, lessons, and activity suggestions. An excellent resource for science classrooms.
