What is Matter?

From the: Matter in Action Series

In this wonderful introduction to the nature of matter, students will explore how they depend on and interact with matter. The program clearly demonstrates some of the physical and chemical properties of matter. Special attention is paid to the method by which matter is measured. Length, mass, weight and volume of common everyday matter is explored. Students are also exposed to the metric system when describing matter. Other terminology includes: meter, kilogram, gram, liter, water displacement, and density.

"The high scores for this come from the use of both real life and computer graphics to explain ideas that are interesting and well described." - NAMTC Curricular Media, 2005
