Forests throughout the world are described including the northern coniferous forest, temperate deciduous forest, subtropical forest, and the tropical forest. The dominant trees, herbaceous plants and interesting animals that make up these forests are investigated. Other terminology includes: conifer, taiga, spruce, fir, deciduous tree, maple, beech, oak, hickory, canopy, understory, herbaceous, sloth, Everglades, epiphytes, ferns, vines, palmetto, and strangler fig.
